Why Your Donations Matter

When you pull into the TRU Thrift Shop with a bag of donations or stop in to browse, you’re doing more than running an errand. You’re helping families across Boulder County and nearby communities receive comfort, care, and support during some of life’s hardest moments.

Every donated coat, couch, or kitchen item helps fund hospice care, palliative care, grief support, memory care, and aging-in-place programs through TRU Community Care. It’s a simple way to turn everyday generosity into meaningful care for people who need it most.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers make the thrift shop a place of connection and shared purpose. Whether you enjoy helping customers, organizing donations, or supporting special events, there’s a role that fits your schedule and interests.

Many volunteers tell us the shop becomes more than a place to serve—it becomes a community.

Community Impact Stories

Behind every donated item is a real story. A sofa sale that helped fund grief counseling. A winter coat that supported end-of-life care for a local family. Your generosity reaches people in tangible, deeply human ways.

That’s why so many see the TRU Thrift Shop as a way to support hospice care right here in Colorado—through everyday acts of giving.
